Wayne Cobham

After more than 35 years as an entertainer, Wayne Cobham continues to find deep joy in performing, a passion that began with the trumpet in his early childhood. In the late 1970s, he expanded his career into computer programming, becoming a pioneer in the emerging MIDI field while working across genres like Hip-Hop, R&B, Jazz, Pop, and Gospel as a consultant, producer, and educator. His contributions earned him four Grammy Awards for work on Michael Jackson’s Dangerous and HIStory albums, along with recognition for standout trumpet performances. Cobham has toured globally with an extensive list of major artists and contributed to numerous studio recordings and productions, including work with Stevie Wonder, Paul Simon, and John Mayer. Still in high demand, he actively performs with his Cobham Coalition band and has spent the past decade playing with Steve Jordan’s SSBX Band in support of the Michael J. Fox Parkinson’s Foundation.
